What our clients Say

Streetwork Solutions Ltd and specifically Hugh Randall ...

Streetwork Solutions Ltd and specifically Hugh Randall have been working with my fledgling permit team to ensure work loads were fully considered and to develop working practices that met the requirements of the permitting function.  The new team were all novices in the road and street works permit function but with Hugh’s hands on training and reassurances were able to ‘go live’ with the full knowledge that they were competent and able to undertake the new tasks at hand.  Several months in the permits team is going strong and really enjoying their added roles and responsibilities.  I believe Hugh Randall and his efforts have been critical to this success.

On recommendation from a number of London Highway Authorities ...

On recommendation from a number of London Highway Authorities, Hugh from Streetwork Solutions was invited to deliver two days training to Southwark Councils Street Works Inspectors and Co-ordinators. The training received was informative, current and easy to grasp with all staff taking with them a greater knowledge and understanding of permitting and EToN 6 from the training.

The two days covered a number of topics and answered a whole spectrum of questions which until the training had been grey areas. The training enabled staff to witness first hand how Southwark’s current processes worked and where improvements could be made. With Hugh’s continued support we have been able to make the necessary improvements to our processes which in turn has enabled Southwark to deliver a better and more efficient level of service to its residents and stakeholders.

Paul Nagle, Road & Street Works Manager, Southwark Council

Streetwork Solutions (SWS), a big “THANK YOU” ...

Streetwork Solutions (SWS), a big “THANK YOU”. Hugh has provided consistently high quality support and training for the implementation of the South East Permit Scheme here in East Sussex.  The implementation of the scheme has been a steep learning curve for all involved.  Hugh’s dynamic approach to training and fundamental knowledge has ensured that we have embraced the operation of the scheme with confidence.

The Staff at East Sussex have found enormous benefit in the process maps SWS develops. There is a sense of ownership of the processes as they evolved with the staff to relect the working practices opf the team.

East Sussex has been running the Scheme since November 2013, although it has been challenging, Hugh’s ongoing support has been invaluable.

Julie Day, Network Compliance Officer, East Sussex Council

SWS has provided invaluable support in developing and implementing our Scheme ...

SWS has provided invaluable support in developing and implementing our Scheme. Hugh’s wealth of experience with Schemes across the country from both a Utility and Highway Authority perspective ensured the Scheme went through the DfT’s Application process without a hitch. The comprehensive briefings delivered by Hugh were extremely well received by the Utility Companies and their contractors, with 80+ attendees.

Hugh’s training package for Transport for Buckinghamshire officers ensured the implications and requirements of the Scheme on our internal works promoters were understood and complied with. The in depth training and process development delivered by Hugh for our Permit Officers and Streetworks Team has made certain that the Scheme has been implemented, and continues to be run, successfully. We would like to thank Hugh for his evident enthusiasm, continued support and dedication to seeing us through the Permit Scheme journey.

Streetwork Solutions provided help and expertise in a review of the Network ...

Streetwork Solutions provided help and expertise in a review of the Network Co-ordination and Street Works Management function at Merton. This review assisted Merton in making an informed decision to join the London Permit Scheme. Throughout the change process, Streetwork Solutions provided professional support from Business Case, to procedure and guidance notes, to Staff Training.

SWS provided knowledge and support which greatly assisted in ensuring a smooth transition from noticing to permitting works on the Highway in Merton. Hugh Randall is an excellent communicator who imparts his extensive knowledge in a relaxed and friendly way, putting his audience at ease giving them the confidence to learn and develop and welcome the challenges change can bring.

At KN Network Services we take street works legislation and process control very seriously. Working throughout Ireland and the UK we have to work to several different processes and legislative governance. We have worked very closely with Hugh Randall and his team at Street Work Solutions over the last several years on training and accreditation for work in Northern Ireland, England and Scotland.

We have found Hugh and the team to be an invaluable asset to our own operational and administrative support teams. They are always available to assist and give us a steer in the right direction, any day of the week and any time of the day.

Streetwork Solutions Ltd had a massive influence in implementing the Greater Manchester Permit Scheme ...

Streetwork Solutions Ltd had a massive influence in implementing the Greater Manchester Permit Scheme. Hugh’s Knowledge of Streetworks, Permitting, EToN and the relevant legislation was a massive benefit to all those involved in the implementation of this successful Project. Hugh also developed the Processes and Procedures currently used in the Scheme and articulated these in such a way that even the complex aspects of Permitting were easily interpreted.

Hugh is able to communicate the legislation and complexities to a wide range of stakeholders in different arenas both verbally and in writing.

I would recommend Hugh to work with any Streetworks Organisation who is looking to identify efficiencies and work in a more consistent manner. His approach to achieve this was very welcomed by all.

Streetwork Solutions Ltd had a massive influence in implementing the Greater Manchester Permit Scheme ...

Streetwork Solutions, Mr Hugh Randall in particular, have been instrumental to the London Borough of Havering successfully joining the London Permit Scheme in 2013 . We found the training (presented to all levels of staff and contractors) to be comprehensive, fit for purpose, extremely useful and appreciate the support Hugh gave us during the later stages of Implementation.

The training/process workshops made us think about the impacts of the forthcoming scheme, therefore we had everything in place prior to going live!

Hailey Ramana, NRSWA Compliance Co-ordinator, London Borough of Havering
